Carrie was born in Cook County in Chicago, Illinois, USA on May 21 1876. Our maternal great grandfather, Christopher Olson was born in Kristiania (Oslo), Norway on October 18 1876. Christopher immigrated to America about 1883 and settled in the United States. On the 04th of October of 1897 Christopher (Chris) married Carrie. In the summer of 1900, the young couple were living in the village of Two Harbours in Lake County Minnesota. Chris worked as a day labourer for Oscar Dahl, a bartender in the local saloon, and he and Carrie boarded at the Dahl residence with Oscar, his wife Jennie and their three young children.

The following year, on January 27 1901, the couples first child was born. The child, a son, was Charles, Ed & Ann Olson-abt.1908-web sizenamed Charles Melvin Olson. Arthur passed away in 1921 at the tender age of three, and it is not known what became of Thomas. Thomas may have been a twin to Theodore, or they may be the same person (we have found no information to support either theory, however, both are said to have been born in 1908.
